The Windhoek Observer does not currently offer any mobile services but is developing a SMS news alert system and mobile website both to keep their existing readers connected and to increase readership among younger demographics.

They with to engage their readers in contributing to the news as well as responding to written articles and providing a platform for people to propose constructive ideas through SMS. They also have thoughts about running regular SMS-based competitions with readers.

Erica has already developed a pricing structure for thei services they wish to develop and is adamant that she and her team have all the expertise that they require to see the project through to completion.


OBSERVE’N’CONNECT

The Windhoek Observer is the only broad-sheet English weekend newspaper in Namibia. Its reporting is centered around its promise of “Setting the Nation’s Agenda”. It is rated among credible newspapers in Namibia which provides a platform for fair, investigative and in-depth journalism.
