Singapore's ambitions to become a global digital media hub gets a boost later this month when the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), stages the first Digital Media Asia summit, from 18 to 20 November.

The event, entitled "Content Monetisation on Emerging Digital Media", is actually three one-day conferences in one: Online Media Asia on 18 November, Mobile Media Asia on 19 November, and e-Reading Asia on 20 November.

The conference will examine how cutting edge organisations are using the most advanced digital media platforms to profitably multipurpose content from newspapers, magazines, broadcasters or books and will provide insights into the best practices in the developing multimedia world.

Presentations include:

-  Gaining new markets with paperless newspapers, which will focus on how to gain online leadership on new markets without investing in print. By Mike Van Nierkek, Editor in Chief, Fairfax Digital, Australia.

-  Cross-media advertising innovations, which will examine the world's most advanced crossmedia strategies. By Dietmar Schantin, Group Director Editorial, Advertising & General Management, WAN-IFRA.
