Matúš Kostolný was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the daily SME in October 2006. SME is a leading quality paper in Slovakia and sme.sk is the number one newsite in the country, with 1,5 milion readers every month.

Matúš started at SME in 1994 at the foreign news desk, later serving as foreign news editor and Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
