Andrew Holden

Editor-in-Chief, The Age, Australia

Andrew Holden has 35 year's experience in newspapers - daily, community and commuter free - and magazines in three countries. He was editor of The Press in Christchurch from 2007 to 2012.

In February 2011, he was in The Press' office when the devastating earthquake struck. Holden and his team managed to produce a paper the next day, and continued to deliver the news to their community despite thousands of aftershocks, another major earthquake in June, and 14 months in a temporary portacabin village in the carpark of their printing plant. He is now the editor-in-chief of The Age in Melbourne, overseeing that newsroom's transformation to a digital-first business.
