    Editor, WIRED Magazine, UK

    David Rowan, Editor of the UK edition of WIRED magazine, is a world renowned expert on future trends. He writes the monthly “Digital Life” column in GQ magazine and the “Tech Traveller” column in Condé Nast Traveller. He speaks widely on topics from the new rules of business in a mobile-internet age to the future of luxury brands. He is a brilliant story-teller and aims to make the rapid advances in technology comprehensible to a wider audience.

    David has interviewed hundreds of the world’s most cutting-edge entrepreneurs, and has edited everything from The Guardian’s Websites and Comment pages to the Jewish Chronicle. For WIRED he has written cover stories on world-changing figures such as Eric Schmidt and Reid Hoffman.

    CEO, dmg media, Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT), UK

    Kevin Beatty was appointed to the Board of Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT) in 2004, having joined the Group in 1996. Prior to this, Kevin was managing director of the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd at that time, part of Mirror Group plc. With the Group for 17 years, Kevin has been managing director of The Mail on Sunday; managing director of the Evening Standard and London Metro; chief operating officer of Associated New Media; and managing director of Northcliffe Newspapers. Kevin is now Chief Executive of dmg media, the consumer media operation of DMGT plc.

    He is a board member of the NPA and represents the UK publishing industry on the Board of WAN-IFRA; he is a non-executive director of the PA Group where he chairs the nominations committee and is a member of the remuneration committee.

    Editor-in-Chief, The Globe and Mail

    John Stackhouse is editor-in-chief of The Globe and Mail. He was previously editor of Report on Business and has also served as the newspaper’s national editor, foreign editor, correspondent at large, and for seven years, from 1992 to 1999, was the development issues correspondent based in New Delhi. He has worked for Report on Business Magazine, the Financial Times, London Free Press and The Toronto Star. Mr. Stackhouse has won five national newspaper awards, a national magazine award and an Amnesty International Award for human rights reporting. He is the author of two books, “Out of Poverty” and “Timbit Nation: A Hitchhikers Guide to Canada”, and a contributing author to “The Bre-X Fraud”, “Travels with My Laptop” and “Foreign Correspondent: Fifty Years of Reporting South Asia”. He was educated at Queen’s University, and lives in Toronto.

    Chief Executive Officer, JoongAng Media Network, Korea

    Mr. Jeongdo Hong is the CEO of JoongAng Media Network (JMnet), the largest media group in the Republic of Korea. Mr. Hong is in charge of managing JMnet’s 37 subsidiaries and 26 brands of media platforms including newspapers, magazines, TV stations, and a multiplex cinema chain.

     

    Since Mr. Hong joined JMnet in 2005 as a member of the Strategic Planning Office, he has developed overall corporate strategies for the leading media group. A highlight of his work was in 2009 when he supervised the JoongAng Ilbo’s (Korean language daily) ambitious project to change the newspaper’s printing format to the Berliner, the first such innovation in all of Asia. Now, he is serving as the newspaper’s CEO.

     

    Mr. Hong also played a crucial role in JMnet’s historic regaining of broadcasting rights in 2011 for a TV channel which was confiscated by the military regime in the 1970s. Mr. Hong serves as the CEO of that channel, JTBC, which is making a name for itself for its fresh approach to news, documentaries, dramas and entertainment programs.

    Managing Director B2B, Financial Times Ltd

    Caspar de Bono leads the Business to Business team for content sales at the Financial Times and is the Board Director responsible for corporate, education and government subscribers and syndication customers - globally.

    Caspar was previously Managing Director of FT Business and responsible for a portfolio of niche brands including The Banker and Financial Adviser. He became Managing Director of FTB in March 2004 and a board member of the Financial Times Ltd, following the merger of FT Business with the Newspaper in January 2007.

    Caspar joined the FT in 1995. He has worked across the FT group in a variety of roles including product development, marketing, strategy and publishing. He has an MBA from London Business School and a degree in Psychology from Oxford University.

    Chief Executive Officer, Grupo RBS, Brazil

    Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer, is the CEO for Grupo RBS since July 3rd, 2012. He is the grandson of Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho, the company’s founder, and has been working for the business for more than eight years. Eduardo started out at the company in 2004 acting as General Manager for the National Market, based in the company’s São Paulo branch. Later on, in 2008, he took over as vice-president of Market and Business Development. During this period, he as responsible for expanding RBS’ national dimension and, in 2010, became Executive Vice-President with a mission: to develop the group’s operations in the Communications area as well as to expand the group’s performance in the digital and executive education markets - the latter being the two other main strategic pillars of Grupo RBS.

    Eduardo has started out his career in Brazil, where he has worked both with the financial market and franchising, being master franchiser for the multinational company Sweet Sweet Way. He has also collaborated with projects within Booz Allen & Hamilton consulting company. In the United States, he has worked at Delphi Corporation and acted as general director at BoxTop Media, a New York based company.
