Bahraini activist and blogger Zainab Al-Khawaja was arrested last night while protesting the detention of her father, prominent human rights defender Abdul Hadi Al-Khawaja.

Zainab was arrested last night in front of the Bahraini Ministry of Interior's building in Manama, as she was protesting on her own and asking to see her dying father. She was arrested by security forces and will face public prosecution on Saturday.

The blogger also announced from inside prison that she will be going on hunger strike in solidarity with her father, who has been imprisoned for almost a year and has been on hunger strike for 58 days.
